Articles by John Morton :

1. How does the Soul Clear Karma on the Lower Levels?
The Soul is always asking how it can use any circumstance for learning and growth. When you can look upon your process with a sense of amusement, delight, peace and perfection, then you are in the consciousness of the Soul.
By: John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue November 06, 2008

3. What is Meant by “Intercessory Work”?
Intercessory means direct. Each of us has a personal, direct and sacred relationship to God. We don't need an intercessory to get with God. It's a direct relationship.
By: John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue October 06, 2008

4. Your “Enemy”: God’s Glory Brought into Your Midst
Well, isn’t that like Soul travel? “Darn, I’m back here again.” Bodies are like that. Worlds are like that. And whoever was taking account of the creation said that there are “worlds without end.” Spirit transcends that and relates to all things in an equitable way. It’s all beautiful. It’s all full of grace. Sometimes that matches up in the physical, and you get a nice reflection of it in the world. Our encouragement to you is that when you have those enchanted, beautiful, glorious, transcending moments, go with them. Enjoy them for all they’re worth.

5. How Can I Protect Myself from Others’ Negativity?
Bring your conscious awareness to the Light. The negativity will be cleared away because it cannot stay in the Light. In the presence of the Light negativity cannot exist.
By: John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue September 02, 2008

6. What is Meant by Spiritual Fulfillment?
Spiritual fulfillment is a knowing that who you are overcomes all things that could ever challenge you. It's an understanding that you are complete.
By: John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue August 11, 2008

10. How Do I Know Whether to Have Acceptance and Be Patient or Make an Adjustment in Order to See Change?
Regardless of what is confronting you or the difficulty you face in any moment, you always have the opportunity to change and direct your choices into greater blessings. Your choice for greater blessings always begins with you.
By: John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue May 15, 2008

11. How Can I Overcome Fears of Death and Dying?
When we know ourselves spiritually, there’s no fear of anything that can happen in this world. So when you experience fear of death or dying, that’s letting you know you’re dealing with the great illusion, the great lie.
By: John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue May 04, 2008

12. How Can I Get More Free About My Sexual Expression?
If you are allowing your sexuality to express what is profane with the judging that often follows, you can still realize that who you are past your behaviors, thoughts and feelings is sacred.
By: John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue April 25, 2008

13. How Can I Open My Spiritual Eyes & Ears?
It takes a lot of practice and tremendous ability to have your eyes and ears open into the physical world and still be open in the Spirit.
By: John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue April 11, 2008

14. What’s the Best Way to Tithe into a Money Magnet?
A consciousness of wealth is also a consciousness of freedom; freedom to receive and freedom to give.
By: John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue April 04, 2008

15. What is Meant by "The Meek Shall Inherit the Earth?"
We are perfect the way we are which includes all that you are becoming as a process of learning and growth. Remember your life has an eternal nature that transcends the temporary nature of the world.
By: John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue March 26, 2008

16. You Are The Blessings
I am inviting you to open yourself up to this truth of your being: You Are The Blessings. The blessings, the opportunity for greater good, are always present in you, others, and the world around you. All that is needed is to bring your awareness to that truth, follow, and choose as best you can.
By: John Morton, DSS Issue: No Issue March 25, 2008

17. How Can I Help Bring Forward the Light of the Travelers?
Your intention to be caring is essential, both with yourself and others.
By: John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue March 17, 2008

18. What is the Right Path to God?
It’s really the intention to be with yourself such that you realize something great and miraculous is going on in every moment.
By: John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue March 12, 2008

19. How Can I Do "Greater Works" than Jesus Did?
You may think you're not worthy, but the Christ is not about your personal nature.
By: John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue February 26, 2008

20. DSS: Your Natural Knowing
The PTS Doctor of Spiritual Science (DSS) program is essentially designed to get you on very friendly terms with yourself. You get to sit down and meet yourself, face-to-face. If you encounter yourself in a way you interpret as difficult, that’s your choice, but it’s not set up to be difficult. It’s set up so you can be conscious in all ways and on all levels of yourself. So, a whole lot is going on to release you from limitations:

21. What are the Greatest Blessings in Your Life Right Now?
Be careful what you judge as something other than a blessing in your life.
By: John Morton, Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue January 25, 2008

22. What's Your New Year's Resolution?
As we rededicate ourselves to our spirit, we are rewarded. We discover, again, that God's will is done.
By: John Morton, Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue January 07, 2008

23. How Can I Be a More Loving Parent?
Consciously loving your children brings you present with the power and creation and all that can be done.
By: John Morton, Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue December 18, 2007

24. Giving and Forgiving
It’s important to consider how the spirit of God touches us and makes itself known. There is a first step, and that is to be open, to reach out in our purity and innocence, to ask and to remember that God is listening and watching. The answer is in our midst, and if we’re denying or avoiding it, perhaps we’re allowed to play the fool for a while. Thank God we’re not allowed to be foolish forever. At some point something comes along even to the hardest of hearts, to the one who is most lost, most forsaken, and it still has mercy, it still has grace. It’s important that we remember that in our dealings with one another.
By: John Morton, DSS Issue: No Issue December 07, 2007

25. How Do I Connect to God and the Traveler?
Always place your trust in God. And as you do, you will place your trust in yourself because God’s trust is coming to you.
By: John Morton, Spiritual Director of MSIA Issue: No Issue December 05, 2007

26. Just Take a Look
I’ve noticed over the years that people sometimes get up to share with me and say something along the lines of, “I always have questions.” But let's consider that your destiny spiritually is to come to a place where you have no questions.
By: John Morton, DSS Issue: No Issue October 09, 2007

27. John Morton on the Spiritual Promise
It matters that in this moment you make the choice again to align yourself with your spirituality. And as you do that there’s an extension of that that can go forward as an expression. It shows up as loving choices and caring choices, and forgiving and peaceful choices.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue May 10, 2007

28. What is our Spiritual Promise?
I find that the answers to our questions about the great mysteries of life and death are part of the spiritual promise. There is a spiritual promise that what we seek truly and openly we will find. And probably most of us have heard of the scripture from the Bible that says, “If you seek, you shall find.” I consider that part of the spiritual promise—that if we seek the truth, it is our heritage.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue April 16, 2007

29. Your True Nature
Your true nature is not negative, so when you experience negativity, it doesn’t feel good, it doesn’t work, it just kind of messes things up. That’s by design, that’s on purpose, that’s all part of God’s perfection. It is a way for you to know, “I’m not this, this isn’t me, this doesn’t feel right, this isn’t working.”
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue February 02, 2007

30. Making God Your Partner: The Lazy Man's Approach
When you call the Traveler, you're not refused. If you know how to call the Traveler, that's all you need. But if you don't do it, that brings up a question you might ask yourself: What's really important to you?

31. On the Road Report from John Morton -- Roving Reporter in Belo Horizonte, Brazil
Another day. Given that NDH roving reporter Angel Gibson was elected along with Celia Allen-Graham to stay in Santiago, Chile to continue providing MSIA Services to those still looking for them there, Morton-after-Midnight has stepped forward to in some way fill this vast void in response to the very first MSIA staff trip to Belo Horizonte, Brazil. If you, like me, are wondering where in the world that could possibly be all you need do is consider the meaning in Portuguese which is "beautiful horizon." You want to know more? Read on dear reader.

32. The Door and the Way
Someone once asked me the difference between the Soul and the Christ. The Soul is an individualized form of God, entirely of the spiritual dimension, and it can also take a psychic-material form, whereby Spirit takes on a physical body. There’s a crossover, like Alice going through the Looking Glass. In other words, there’s another world, and that world is easy to forget.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue October 06, 2006

33. A Blessing of Living Love
We’ll do a little visualization here that’s going to be in a meadow-like clearing. People are coming into this clearing and gathering together. You’re here because you’re able to see this beautiful meadow. There’s an energy here that’s really important to be aware of. You could feel it like a magnet, like a pull or a push. It’s right on the top of your head. And as you’re open and prepared, it also comes into you physically.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue September 01, 2006

34. Loving Your Number
I’ve been asked about memory (or lack of memory), and if this applies to you it’s important that you don’t confuse yourself with the mechanism. The mechanism would be the body and things of the body, even things that we refer to as the mind. The mind is subject to the ability of nerve endings, cells, the blood oxygen barrier and transference, and so on. So the functionality of you in the body temple is the mechanism.

35. Experiencing True Love
We’re always in relationship to something–to where we find ourselves, to who we face, to who was there when we took our first breath and who is there when we take our last breath, and to who’s there in between.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue March 15, 2006

36. The Door and the Way

37. Are You Celebrating Christmas?
How has your Christmas season been going? Well, I’ll tell you how mine’s been going: As much as I like to have an intention to simplify my life (and I’ve found all kinds of ways to declare that intention, to look upon it, to affirm it, to pray upon it), it doesn’t happen. In the field of my behavior and my body, I’m just more active, more involved, and there are more things coming at me than ever.

38. A Message from MSIA's Spiritual Director John Morton About Hurricane Katrina
Consider that this is yet another time of testing for all involved, which is intensified by the degree the conditions are found to be challenging.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue September 03, 2005

39. The PTS Master’s and Doctoral Programs
What we are doing through the PTS Master’s and Doctoral programs is the pinnacle of the teachings of MSIA on the outer level. Participating in them is to partake in the opportunity that Spirit brings forth for us to transform ourselves from the material into the Spirit, to fulfill the spiritual promise, and to partake in what is before us, as an opportunity to live in grace, to be anointed spiritually.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue September 02, 2005

40. Negotiating Your Karma
Karma is absolutely negotiable. How is that? By working it out. So, you’re here to work out karma (in fact, we’re all here to work out karma), and you’re negotiating your karma all the time in how you respond. Is there a way to keep what you’ve created or have it come into a form that’s of a lesser responsibility? If you have created karma you don’t need, that’s called doing unnecessary things. You didn’t need to do that; that doesn’t really add to you. You had that experience already, so what is it doing? It’s just reinforcing what you need to learn. So there’s an advantage there.

41. Pick Up on the Christ
Did you know you can take commitment joyously? It is a fun thing you can do, but sometimes people take their commitments with fear, the fear that they are not going to be able to meet what’s there for them to do. They feel overcome with fear, which is close to feeling overwhelmed.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue February 10, 2005

42. Choose You This Day
It’s important to hold the correct identification of yourself, what you answer to. I deal with the dark when I need or have to, but I am of the Light. That’s what I answer to. That is what governs who I am and what I do with my life. I do it as Light.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue September 23, 2004

43. Surrendering with Confidence
Surrender is a process of surmounting. The first part of the word surrender is sur, which means above or superior. It’s an overcoming, a moving above. The second part of the word is render, which has to do with release and giving up or giving away what is due or owed. We see it used in the Bible when Jesus said, “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s” (Matthew 22:21).

44. A Blessing of Serving in the Light
This is a blessing given by John Morton at MSIA’s Q&A with John Morton & John-Roger on the Internet on April 13, 2004.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue May 05, 2004

45. Turning the Tide Toward Peace
One of the things that we do as a group is to bring the consciousness of peace. First, we bring peace in ourselves. We make an effort to find the peace that’s present inside, regardless of where we are and what the circumstances are. We can always be aware of that peace and do our best to express the peace that’s present—to see it in any situation, to see it in others, to look for ways to allow peace to have dominion, to let peace reign in what we’re doing and experiencing together.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue April 08, 2004

46. The Choice to Love
There are no errors in love. We can distance ourselves from the loving by being pulled into some distortion of the loving, yet even the distortion of the loving is still loving. It’s just something that’s of a lower vibration, a conditioned kind of love. When we realize that our true state cannot be conditioned, we know that the conditions have no power over the love and, also, no power over us because we are the love.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue January 29, 2004

47. Awakening to the Soul
The Traveler knows how to do what it does perfectly because it’s been given that authority by God. So it’s really the authority of God, the ability of God, the knowledge of God that functions through the Traveler. That’s a big thing, and it is in everyone.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue November 19, 2003

48. Attuning to the Peace Within
My view on peace is that it is an energy that is in harmony with all things and always present in any circumstance.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue July 23, 2003

49. Thoughts on Peace and a Call to Action
I and so many others want to find a non-violent way when possible, and only use necessary force in order to stop what must be stopped, if we are to preserve and pass on a world with its balance established in peace. I simply must find a way to vote for peace and tranquility.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue May 21, 2003

50. Initiation and Spiritual Exercise
Those who are initiated in MSIA are given names of God that are charged from within, from the spiritual consciousness that can charge that connection. And people participate in the spiritual exercise by chanting and also by listening and watching. Spiritual exercise is an opportunity to listen for what is the divine nature and the divine presence, which can come through as a vibration, and to present ourselves and make ourselves available to that.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue February 25, 2003

51. The Blessing of Seeing the Good in All Things
I carry around a little card with a quote that reads, "If you would learn the secret of Soul Transcendence, look only for the good, for the Divine in people and things, and All the rest leave to God." I carry it around with me because, at times, I need to be reminded. I have had moments of difficulty seeing the good—not only in people but also in events, in feelings, in thoughts, and in various situations.

52. Fatherhood: The Leading Edge of Growth
I don’t consider myself an expert in the area of parenting. I consider myself someone more or less “wallowing” in it in my own way, but it is a really wonderful wallow. I think it is the greatest thing going on in my life. It is full of all that is here for me in this world, so I continually honor and salute all those who are in any way involved in parenting.

54. Exercising Your Godhood
The word initiation implies starting (initiating) something. In the context of initiation in MSIA, we're initiating something that's already laid out and prepared. It means that you've released yourself from the things that would not allow you to go into what an initiate is dealing with.

55. Peace – Part 2 of An Interview with John Morton

By: Laren Bright with John Morton Issue: No Issue March 21, 2002

56. Peace -- Part 1 of An Interview with John Morton
Peace is something that’s always present, even when we’re not aware of it. Even when things appear to us that are contradictory, peace is the quality that is the calm. It’s the calm not just before the storm, but during the storm and after the storm. It’s the quality that somehow things are right even when we don’t realize it or we don’t understand what’s going on. It’s not just the calm part or eye of the hurricane, but it’s also when things are extremely dynamic, powerful, and changing. There’s a peace in that as well.

60. A Message from John Morton & John-Roger in New York City
We encourage you to envision white, crystalline Light columns where the towers have stood and even seeing the rubble as gems of radiant Light, perhaps a bit in the rough, but in the process of being refined to a most beautiful setting--a place where the world will come to connect to the solemn peace and glory that stands in our oneness with God. And, wherever your are and wherever you go, you can place columns of Light, blessing whatever is there and whoever comes present.

61. John Morton's Prayers at MSIA Prayer Service on National Day of Prayer and Remembrance September 14, 2001 in Santa Monica, CA and Worldwide on the Internet
I'd like to encourage us to take a moment, and I will, in my own way, give you my view on what I'm asking from God, and a lot of it is making myself available. I think at this time, each one of us, if we're in any way sensitive to who we are, feel compelled to do something. Yesterday, when I heard of today being a National Day of Prayer, I wanted to respond. I wanted to do something. I wanted us to provide a place, and I consider this an open place for all.

63. Keeping Your Eye on the Lord
Keeping your eye on the Lord is fairly practical and simple. In order to keep your eye on the Lord, you have got to see the Lord. If you are not seeing the Lord, it is no wonder that you are not keeping your eye on the Lord. What, then, does it mean to see the Lord? Is that an embodiment, a personage, a presence?
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue May 07, 2001

64. Cast Your Burdens to Spirit
Do you realize that you are not doing spiritual exercises? Spirit is doing them, and you get to participate as much as you can. How do you best do that? You make yourself available. How do you best make yourself available? By lining up all your energy and focusing all your energy on being available spiritually—which is to say inside—to bring your attention inside. Do you bring it to the hangnail on your toe? Maybe, although there are places of Spirit inside that are well beyond the hangnail. But you may have to deal with the hangnail in your awareness to get to the seat of the Soul.
By: John Morton Issue: No Issue January 18, 2001

65. The Soul's Heritage
There is a principle of Soul Transcendence called "let go and let God," and spiritual exercise is the practice of Soul Transcendence. When we practice spiritual exercise, we give ourselves the opportunity to do Soul Transcendence -- to have that direct experience and to know that there is something real there for us. By the practice of spiritual exercise, there is always an experience that is given to us to keep us vitalized. A holy, living breath is constantly being delivered so we do not die or perish.

66. Living On God's Terms
People will sometimes take fear and relate it to tithing or other things in their lives. There is no real connection between fear and tithing unless it is through you. You are the connection if you take fear and relate it to tithing, since they are not related.

69. An Ultimate Marriage
A marriage represents a commitment, a commitment from a person towards something. That "something" may be someone, or it may be larger than a person. You might say that you are making a commitment to a husband or a wife. That is an important ingredient because there is a part of a marriage that represents a union on the level of the flesh. Flesh touches flesh in a very intimate, close, committed way. However, if a marriage were to rest upon that alone, it would be untenable. It would be very difficult to have the commitment that leads to a lasting marriage depend solely upon the physicality of the flesh and what bodies do and do not do. Bodies by their nature are corruptible; eventually they decay, and ultimately they die.
