Articles by John-Roger :

1. Ordinariness: A Prior Condition to God & Transcending Fear
Hopefully we’re all being teachers and lovers and the Beloved to each other and holding a loving attitude with each other, so if somebody goes to fall, we can support them.
By: John-Roger, DSS with Paul Kaye, DSS Issue: No Issue March 25, 2008

2. Timeless Wisdoms—Volume One
"Timeless Wisdoms" is a new book by Dr. John-Roger, available now from MSIA. Its 73 chapter titles will be quickly recognizable by those who have studied with him over the years. Here is a small sampling from the book.

3. Where Do We Find Our Spiritual Promise
You come into this world, attempting to fulfill certain qualities within yourself, and you go about it in many ways. But there is a prime directive that everyone works under:

4. What Are You Giving for Christmas?
When I was coming down here I thought, “J-R, what are you going to talk about today? For the last thirty or forty years you’ve been giving thirty or forty hours’ worth of information, and you haven’t really repeated much except to say Merry Christmas.” So, once again, Merry Christmas. And then I thought that nowadays there often is no “Christ Mass” in Christmas. Christmas has become a financial organization that your children use against you to plan the rest of your year together.

5. Neutrality
There is a notion about neutrality, of remaining neutral, including remaining neutral in the midst of emotional turmoil. Sometimes it is not good to be neutral. Sometimes it’s best to take up energy and redirect negativity in another direction. If you’re being very neutral, you may not recognize the negativity.

6. John-Roger on the Spiritual Promise -- Part II
If you’re studying for initiation or have been initiated, and you’re holding true to that and you die, you are blessed. I will tell you this out of truth, and absolute knowledge and integrity: I will be there to see you in Spirit.
By: Dr. John-Roger Issue: No Issue May 10, 2007

7. John-Roger on the Spiritual Promise -- Part I
There are many in this line of Mystical Travelers. You people in here have the spiritual promise of becoming a Mystical Traveler—that doesn’t mean that you’ve got it, it means that it’s highly probable. Maybe not here, but Mystical Travelers are needed in other universes and other galaxies.

8. Animals, Dying and Spiritual Exercises
When we deal in the karmic field on the planet here, there are three ways we do it: we create it or we promote it or we allow it. Sometimes the allowing is not doing things and saying, “Well, I didn’t know,” or “How was I to know?” Yet deep down inside of us, we get the strange feeling like we could have known. This is not necessarily we should have (that comes under another way of doing it), but it’s “I could have done that, had I listened inside, had I really paid attention.”

9. The Difference Between Seeding and Tithing
I am going to suggest an ancient idea to you that is for personal abundance. We could call it casting, "faith-ing," or seeding. Let me tell you how it works, especially in contrast to tithing. In a way, tithing is asking, "What is the appropriate behavior in the eyes of the Lord?" It is saying, in essence, "God, thank you for what I have received. And from what I've received, I want to give 10 percent back to you." That's like an aftereffect: After I get it, I tithe. So, a very simple way of defining tithing, without going into the financial aspects of it, is that you're saying, "I am thankful for what I have already received."

10. Your Destiny and God’s Will for You
Your ultimate destiny is to be consciously aware on all levels at all times and to know your own divinity. When you do this, you also know the divinity in all things and realize that it is all one. Then, what you do in your life is up to you to decide. You can do any number of things and still fulfill your destiny of knowing God; in other words, what you do here has little if anything to do with Soul Transcendence.

11. John-Roger on Living Love
We must listen to the Sound of Love —the great inner feeling, that movement of spiritual inner awareness that unites us on all levels of beingness. Then we know we are peace, we are joy, we are love.
By: John-Roger Issue: No Issue September 01, 2006

12. Rededicating to Soul Transcendence
When you are initiated to the Sound Current, it is a very important step because you are saying, in essence, "I am going to go into the heart of God. I am going to position this above all other things." It means that you are rededicating yourself and reaffirming your devotion to your own Light, your own true self, your own Spirit.

13. Loving Right Now
Let’s take a hard look at our love pattern, and the area of responsibility in interpersonal relationships. Someone once said to me, “You talk about this divine love, this divine Light. Well, what are you doing with it? Why don’t you take it and direct it towards somebody and share it with them?” They weren’t talking about the personal love, because often we let that get in the way. They were talking about the divine love.

14. Reaching into Spirit
You reach into Spirit by building the strength of Spirit through spiritual exercises. And the only way you can have the experience, the transcendental knowledge, is to have a spiritual transport that can move you from this physical level into the spiritual realms.
By: John-Roger Issue: No Issue January 11, 2006

15. Are You Trying or Doing?
Just under the Sugmad of the Supreme Reality there is a band of Light, and in this band of Light are the Silent Ones. The Silent Ones cannot be named. It’s very hard to tell you about the line of masters that MSIA functions through, because we get to a point where we can no longer tell you. They must remain unnamed. But the Silent Ones carry on all work of all universes. They can come in any form at any time—as a rock, or a leaf, or a frog, or anything they desire in order to do the work that is set up by the Sugmad.

16. The Light Behind the Shadows
People say, “Oh God, help me!” They ask me, “Can you put something inside of me that will make me grow and develop faster?” And the answer is, “Be patient, because that is part of your spiritual discipline.” Be patient. Be now. Be here. Don’t forget that it’s all here already.
By: John-Roger Issue: No Issue October 12, 2005

17. Riding the Train
If you want greater spirituality, you can’t force it. You have to put yourself where it is.
By: John-Roger Issue: No Issue September 02, 2005

18. Clearing Karma Through Rereading Soul Awareness Discourses
I’ve long suggested that people reread their Soul Awareness Discourses because each time you reread a past Discourse, you clear different things.
By: John-Roger Issue: No Issue May 26, 2005

19. You, The Soul
Our goal is to move from the external power of the personality into the authentic power of the Soul. The personality expresses itself in how we use the exterior senses—not only in the way we hear, see, smell, touch, and taste but also in how and when we date, eat, shop, appreciate the arts, chat with friends, and persuade others to do what we want.
By: John-Roger, D.S.S. with Paul Kaye, D.S.S. Issue: No Issue February 10, 2005

20. Who Are You?
Socrates said, “Know thyself.” In Shakespeare’s "Hamlet", Polonius cautions, “To thine own self be true.” But which self are we getting to know? To what self should we be true? Where is the self located anyway? Come to think of it, which self is reading these words?

21. Seventy Times Seven
Here we are today, and it seems like there are more terrible things occurring on this planet than there have ever been before. We have had 2000 years of the Christ energy, influence, and information, and there are all these terrible things happening. Is being Christian a failure? Some people might look at it that way, but let’s look at another point of view.

22. In the Spirit World
When John Morton got the keys to the Traveler Consciousness, a lot of things switched in the Spirit world. Now I just hold the transcendent keys, the Traveler Consciousness in the Soul Transcendence, whereas John has the Traveler keys in the Soul travel.

23. How Are You Serving?
When people say, “I want to be of service,” they have a lot of ideas about what that represents. But I look at the word service itself, not at my idea about the word, to find out what it’s conveying to me, because often the meaning is within the frequency of the word. And I’ve found that when we are being of service, that means we are freely doing without any other thought in mind. When you serve this way, all of your things are put away in terms of what you want, and you do in terms of what’s there to be done, without anything coming back to you at all. It’s not, “I’ll be of service so I can gain.” You just do, to do, to do, to do, to do. And that’s it.

24. What Can You Trust?
I think all of us have said at one time, “Oh, I trust God,” but inside there may have been a niggling little thing that said, “Not really.”
By: John-Roger Issue: No Issue January 29, 2004

25. Personal Integrity
The other day when I was flying on an airplane, I was on my way to the restroom, and a gentleman asked me, “What do you do?” I said, “Right now, I do the toilet,” and he started laughing. When I came out, he was watching for me and he said, “What are you doing now that you’re out of the toilet?” I said, “Going to my seat.” He said, “You know what I’m asking,” and I said, “Yes, I do know what you’re asking.” He wanted to know what I’m doing, what kind of work I do, and if there was anything he could learn from it.

26. Suffering
Most of us at one time or another ask why there is so much suffering in the world and, even closer to home, why we ourselves suffer. Suffering is the result of attachment. Attachment is the result of desire. Desire is the result of not feeling whole and complete. Not feeling whole and complete is the result of not being in contact with God. So, suffering is obliterated by finding God, and that is what I teach.

27. Transforming Anger: A key to being part of the solution rather than part of the problem
In today's world, high stress levels and violence are a big part of today's conversation. Everywhere we look, it seems there's another story about stress on the job, road rage, global warfare, or economic concerns. Yet these are not what most people really want in their lives or world. I often talk with friends and family about how to approach life with peace and calm. When life seems out of control, we need to identify ways to take care of ourselves and support ourselves. When we are supporting ourselves, we can become part of the solution in any situation we face rather than exploding into anger and being part of the problem.

28. Soul Transcendence Gems
It is Soul Transcendence, to live and be in the presence of the living God and to know that. The way to do that is spiritual exercises.

29. The Mystical Traveler . . . and More
There are many realms of Light and many forces of Light. There is what we call the Supreme God, or the Sarmad, although the name of God is actually unspeakable. In the center is what we could call the It of Itself. (This still says nothing, but we have to use words for communication on this level, even though what I am saying is a “lie” because these spiritual things can’t really be put into words.) This It of Itself is what we're going towards, and there are many pathways into God.

30. One Look at Alcohol Addictions
By way of introduction, here is some information. There are three levels of consciousness in a person: the basic self, conscious self, and high self. The basic self resides physically around the area of the solar plexus or stomach. The conscious self is you—your everyday self, the self reading this. The location of the high self is usually about six to eight inches above the person’s head.

33. A Message from John Morton & John-Roger in New York City
We encourage you to envision white, crystalline Light columns where the towers have stood and even seeing the rubble as gems of radiant Light, perhaps a bit in the rough, but in the process of being refined to a most beautiful setting--a place where the world will come to connect to the solemn peace and glory that stands in our oneness with God. And, wherever your are and wherever you go, you can place columns of Light, blessing whatever is there and whoever comes present.

34. John-Roger's Prayer at MSIA Prayer Service on National Day of Prayer and Remembrance September 14, 2001 in Santa Monica, CA and Worldwide on the Internet
It's time for you to look at yourself to see if you're doing what is required of you to open your Spirit, to receive of the greater Spirit, to shed more of your Light and love. This is all of us. And it's not just on occasions of bombing of objects in the material world because eventually they are all going to go away anyway. And our bodies are going to go away, also.

35. Handle Your Karma, Don't Dump It
I'd rather you hit me physically than hit me with the karma that you release that you won't handle. People that I work closely with know that I pick up a lot of things, and maybe 90 percent of them I can deal with spiritually. The rest has to walk around with me because I'm here doing this seminar. I'm the target of your attention. Where you focus your attention, your beingness is going to generate, and when your beingness comes back off again, I'm going to keep holding the karma that you produced and gave out to me.

36. Another Look at Adoption Adopting Yourself
This is from a sharing that J-R did at Living in Grace. You can have an awful lot of fun with bringing your body into the discipline of one of the few things you’ve had control over in your life, which is your weight. But some people eat to give up control over even the last thing that they could control, and they realize that they haven’t really done the best they could have done.

37. A Look at Anger
If you use anger to get what you want, that often means you're not looking at your life in a way where you can gain the greatest value from being in it and doing many things.
By: John-Roger Issue: No Issue September 22, 2000

38. Eros
Have you ever seen a great-looking woman who puts out a certain vibration that’s not sexy but is erotic? It's Eros. It isn't that she is after sex with everybody; rather, she’s after close, friendly relationships, where people give in to her and her behavior. With a person like this, even when she’s not thinking about having someone participate with her, they still feel this Eros energy moving out from her. They may even see a picture of her and see this energy.

39. Riding the Traveler's Train This is from a sharing J-R did at Living in Grace in 1997
When you first stood up to share, I heard you say something about, "I have good s.e.'s, and I have mundane s.e.'s," or something to that effect. That seemed to indicate that you were the one who was bringing about whatever phenomena took place in your awareness as you did s.e.'s. But, as a matter of fact, you really don't have anything at all to do with it. It's being done by the Traveler Consciousness, who does the s.e.'s for you according to your karma, not according to your thoughts or feelings.

40. From Here to Eternity
Everyone on the planet is allowed the mistakes of growth and learning with anybody, at anytime and anyplace, but don't feel guilty.
