A wonderful day of blessings occurred on Sunday, July 20th, in Miami Florida with an afternoon showing of Spiritual Warriors at Unity Church’s very own Unity By The Bay, followed by a You Are the Blessings Blessings Fest and book signing conducted by John Morton at the Hyatt Regency Miami. Over fifty people attended the Blessings Fest which was held as a fundraiser and fun-raiser for MSIA.
Myriam Oroshnik and her team of volunteers did a wonderful job organizing the event in only two weeks after a brief conversation with John Morton at MSIA's Conference got the energy in motion. Included on the organizational team were: Teri Wunderman who stood forward as guardian angel for the event, Ron and Susan Tabin, Joan Victoria Kurkian, Nydia Rey, Rita Benasutti and Elizabeth Baralt. It was a wonderful and heartfelt evening for all and many thanks go out to these volunteers who gave of their time and opened their hearts to welcome us and provide such a lovely environment for the celebration. The entire evening was a shining example of how much can be achieved in short notice when loving Souls step forward in service to the heart.
As in past Blessings Fests, each participant had the opportunity to submit a request for a blessing from John on any topic of their choosing, and during the course of the evening John responded to each request in such a way that the blessing became available to all who chose to participate. One new aspect of this evening’s event was the submission of a number of requests by participants who chose to contribute in some way but were not available to be present physically. This was a wonderful addition to the evening as it extended the awareness and truth that the Blessings Already Are, and that they are available in every moment, at every location, in every circumstance or situation, no matter what, all the time, every time. As John conducted this phase of the evening and read out and blessed a number of these submissions, it became quite clear to me that those who stood forward with such great trust and generosity were receiving a measure even greater in relationship to their faith. It reminded me of the words "It is not I, but it is your faith that has healed you."
Another aspect of the evening that was new was an extension of the fun-raising by way of a raffle for a number of signed You Are the Blessings books. Originally three books were to be raffled and, in a moment of generosity and playfulness, John extended that number to six, which brought great cheers and joy as one participant won three of the books and another participant won two of the books. At first I thought of the motto for the NY State Lottery that says, ‘You’ve Got to be in it to Win it,’ but in this case grace and generosity came in as a number of the books that were won became gifts to others present, extending the blessings even further.
Overall it was a very blessed day and thanks and loving appreciation go out to all those who supported the event, the Hyatt hotel for hosting us, the Miami MSIA community and most of all to John Morton, of whom we can truly say, You Are The Blessings.
