For sure New York is ready whenever you are!” - Caryn Kanzer “The New York community's profound loving for our beloved J-R, inspired through the energized leadership of Melba Alhonte, created a space of joy and enthusiasm that manifested in abundant sharing beyond our wildest expectations. The City Hall restaurant fundraiser, through the generosity of the participants, created the seed to bring forward the wealth of opportunities that followed in all events. What touched my heart was the sharing of our teachings with the young, and the new people in fun filled events. Thanks to Zoe, Jsu, and all involved for their support of our creativity. Our love always, in all ways to J-R.” - Deborah Kovitz Once again the Spiritual Warriors movie tour stopped in New York City. And what a blessed series of events it was. It is still percolating inside of me now – a week later from when it began. First we had a great luncheon on Thursday in a stalwart/rock solid restaurant in the Wall Street/NYC Government area (befitting its environment) attended by approximately 50 loving, smiling, happy Initiates who were oh so grateful and blessed to have lunch and loving with our spiritual teacher, John-Roger. The lunch was approximately 4 hours and many people got to have one on one personal time with J-R which was extraordinary for all of us. Thursday evening we had the first 2009 NYC Spiritual Warriors screening. Lots of time for many folks to share with John-Roger. I so love this movie. I was totally blissed out. And I was even more blissed out the next evening. I think I’ve seen the movie – including home viewings – 12 times. Could be 13… Who’s counting? By the way, if you own the DVD, I recommend (if you’ve already seen it in its “release” form) watching it with the track that has the commentary with J-R and Jsu. You may not hear the dialogue. But you get many insights.
Saturday… we had a well promoted Workshop called Being a “Spiritual Warrior” for the “Rest of Your Life” when you’re “Serving and Giving”. The workshop was literally based on 3 of John-Roger’s books. And the authors were there to sign them. It was great. Getting 3 different books into a book signing was amazing. Having the most recent book sold out before I got there, even more amazing.

My Wife and I were really delighted to be in Cartagena and NY for the screenings. The experience of loving and sharing of the teachings in a free style, bring to my heart a sense of renovation and joy. What a blessing to see the people touched by the movie and the message behind the movie. I remembered the people in Cartagena at night surrounding J-R signing the books, like hummingbirds around a flower to collect the nectar. What a blessing! Thanks to J-R and the SW warrior team” - Becket Moreno "As I got on the plane in LA to fly to NY I opened up a page from the new Serving and Giving book and it magically opened to the page that talks about how several Ministers planted Light columns in New York City and how once when J-R was flying over NY he actually the saw a white mist over the city which were the Light columns. It set the tone for what this trip would be about. As I joined the Spiritual Warriors troop in New York on Wednesday last week I was in a rush to get some shopping done before the events started (you know, shopping and New York just go hand and in hand). As I started shopping at some point it just didn’t feel quite right, my heart wasn’t in it. I just felt a really strong pull to be with my fellow friends and ministers. I listened to my heart and joined my friends for what would be a magical, Light filled 5 days. That first day we planted Light columns with a group of minister’s around Wall Street. Then that same day a miracle happened. Someone donated for me and my husband to attend the luncheon with J-R. It was an amazing experience where I got to share with J-R at his table and just bathe in the amazing loving energy that he brings forward. That day and at the workshop on Saturday I was truly amazed by J-R’s generosity. He must have seen over a hundred people personally who lined up for him to get books signed but mostly to be in his steady, quiet loving presence. It was also very touching to see how several friends who are new to MSIA were touched by J-R and the miracles they experienced around him. After I got back to Seattle, the day after, I truly just wanted to do SE’s all day, just to be connected to J-R’s presence all the time. I just wanted to live in that energy forever. This trip was so graceful and fun I would do it again in a heartbeat.” - Luz Jaramillo “Last week, I had the privilege of participating in three New York City Light-filled events precipitated by the enthusiasm and dedication of Melba Alhonte. The first was a splendid fundraising lunch with our beloved John-Roger as guest of honor, who kindly gave each of us his attention and advice. The second was a screening of Spiritual Warriors, hosted by its star/co-writer/co-producer, Jsu Garcia, who answered questions afterwards, with John-Roger available to autograph the Spiritual Warrior book for anyone who asked. The third was a soiree/workshop/book signing hosted/facilitated by Paul Kaye, John-Roger and Jsu Garcia in a lovely restaurant with 140 people present. My experience throughout was stepping up into the warm embrace of Living Love embodied by all in attendance, and the pleasure of reconnecting with old friends. That my 17-year-old daughter, Chelsea, accompanied me to the screening and workshop was a special treat. We arrived once again to our favorite city. J-R and the Spiritual Warriors troubadours (troubadour - noun; a French medieval lyric poet composing and singing in Provençal in the 11th to 13th centuries, esp. on the theme of courtly love; a poet who writes verse to music). It started with two screenings at the Helen Mills Theatre. John-Roger signed many books both nights. Vinnie Colon, our friend, drove J-R wherever we needed. The Fundraiser was a very special time set under the City Hall Restaurant. The familiar faces smiled at me, and it felt like just yesterday when I met the same New Yorkers for the first time in 1988. Some of us are getting "up there" in age, including me, yet the air was filled with the New York state of mind. Melba, Karen, Heide and Deborah: each of them with their talents ignited something new with the Book Signing of John-Roger's Spanish version of "The Rest of Your Life". with a teaser of J-R's new book: "Serving and Giving" and the Grand Book Launch at the Rouge Tomate which happened to be the same location of the famed Copacabana. I felt great knowing that I was in the same location that Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis entertained at.
