On Tuesday, December 8, all of the organizations founded by Dr. John-Roger sent their staffers to the Staff Holiday Party at Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens, also known as Prana, also know as the headquarters of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness (MSIA). The holiday theme was evident everywhere: greens on every surface, candlelight in crystal cups, and in the foyer an enormous and splendid Christmas Tree, dressed in her finest.

At noon Paul Kaye, one of the MSIA presidency, called everyone forward into the Light, and we began an hour of Spiritual Exercises. This was a loving and essence-ial way to bring the focus of Light and the Christ into our activities for the day. From this lofty point we filed out into the courtyard, and formed a circle around the reflecting pool. The beautiful sunshine and blue sky was a welcome relief, and as we called in the Light and chanted once again, all were appreciating the spirit of our gathering.

Up the stairs and into the dining room, a feast for kings and queens awaited us. (We had to pass through the dessert area in order to reach the luncheon buffet, which most assuredly de-railed some diets.) The Kitchen Elves pulled off yet another spectacular repast, for which there seemed no end. The dishes just kept on coming (not to mention the desserts). As we moved through the buffet line, each person’s plate filled with just what they wanted, members of the top-notch assisting team were there to provide directions, help, and beaming smiles.

We took our places at tables in the foyer, and in the small and large seminar rooms. Again, assistants were there, offering hot and cold drinks to go with the meal, and clearing empty plates as they went along. The rooms buzzed with relaxed conversation, as old and new friends caught up with each other. As a particularly special treat, John-Roger and his ‘posse’ arrived in time to share luncheon with us, bringing smiles and loving to our hearts.

Glenn Barnett and Jennifer Halet deliver a hilarious "staff news update"
After coffee (and dessert), Paul gathered us together again, and the home-grown entertainment began with Jennifer Halet and Glenn Barnett giving us an updated version of “The Prana News Desk.” Much laughter and commentary ensued, enjoyment reigned. Angel Gibson & Kevin McMillan gave us a rendition of Silent Night as the lights on the Christmas Tree were lit up. Then the University of Santa Monica gave us a hilarious skit, finishing with re-written lyrics to a rendition of “There’s No Business Like Show Business” sung at full tilt. And finally, Jimmy Ness performed his heart-felt new song, “Next to God,” accompanying himself on guitar.

During the "staff news update", Jennifer Halet announced that Roger Wakefield of NOW Productions (at center) won this year's "Bambi award" (Richard Price laughing in the background)

Each of the organizations sent a representative to the stage to give a 60-second description (60 seconds being a relative term) of what their particular group would like to place into the Light for the coming year. This was followed by an excerpt from a John-Roger Seminar, and The Meditation of the Christ. This was the close of the event, but people hung around for quite a while afterward, visiting, relaxing, finishing off the desserts, and making plans for the upcoming San Francisco events and the Living in Grace Retreat in Northern California. ‘Tis the Season! Let the Loving Flow!
