Drs. John-Roger, Paul Kaye and Jsu Garcia served us once again, this time at the beautiful Biltmore Hotel – as they shared with us this very special event: ‘Serving & Giving by Living the Way of the Spiritual Warrior’. Saturday January 30, 2010 Here are a few heartfelt sharings from a few Santa Barbara Ministers, who each had a special hand in creating this incredible event; this truly precious opportunity for J-R to be with us all once again. From Kay Turbak … On a stunningly warm Saturday in Santa Barbara, over 220 people (including assistants, MSIA staff) joined John-Roger, Paul Kaye and Jsu Garcia at the lovely Four Seasons Biltmore Hotel for "High Tea". Along with different kinds of tea, assorted tea sandwiches, chocolate dipped strawberries and other desserts, we tasted the pure delight of love and laughter as we shared our hearts with one another. Long-time Santa Barbara resident and oldest living MSIA minister Norma Howe, who celebrated her 93rd birthday on January 29th, was honored to sit with friends and family (including daughter Carolyn, grandchildren Bridget Johnson and Robin Howe, and great-grand daughter Aria Bella). Imagine four generations of MSIAers at one table! From Karen Williams … My name is Karen Williams and I ‘came home’ four years ago when a dear friend, Mady Widyasurya kindly answered some questions I was asking her, while visiting at Mady’s holistic healing center in Santa Barbara, called ‘Perfect Balance’. Mady had a photo of J-R in her room and although I had not met J-R, I felt an instant connection to him and found myself asking questions…and so it began! I have since spoken with other members of our Spiritual family who had similar experiences while finding their way home! While at the book signing in Venice Beach last year, I asked Zoe if it would be possible to do another book signing in Santa Barbara. Zoe said she would run it by the boys and get back to me! I contacted a few venues that I felt may be suitable for the book signing, one being the Four Seasons Hotel, in Montecito, better known as ‘The Biltmore’. Jsu’s favorite was the Four Seasons, of course! Two weeks prior to the book signing Zoe drove to Santa Barbara and we met briefly to go over details for the event. Within 24 hours of Zoe sending information out to the MSIA Community, over sixty people had registered and at the time of the event, over two hundred and forty had registered, with more turning up at the door! I imagine the Light is with Zoe, wherever she goes! I had the honor and the pleasure of sitting at a table with Zoe, which was close to J-R, Paul Kaye and Jsu and it was so humbling to witness the loving between them, extending out to all of us. As I observed the interactions between the three of them and those that came up to ask questions I felt so attuned to Spirit and the loving we all share with each other. I realized something very special happens when we come together, especially when our two Beloved Travelers are together with us. John Morton and Leigh were sitting at a table close by also and this was the first I had ever experienced the physical presence of being with both J-R and John. Love was definitely in the air! I had to leave right before 7pm but before I did I picked up a copy of Jsu’s CD ‘Songs 4U’, which I play while I’m driving, so much so that my two youngest children, Destiny and Sean walk around singing some of the songs, especially the first song on the album, ‘John Roger’. I feel myself wanting to cry when I listen to this song as it brings me so close to the loving I feel also for J-R. Thank you for sharing your heart with us Jsu and for the music that attunes us to Spirit and the Christ within us. Thank you J-R, Jsu, Paul and Zoe for this event. Thank you dear MSIA family. And from Jack Reed, who joined us for this event, and who also joined J-R's very first seminar at Muriel Engel's home in 1968, a poem he wanted to share ... The Beginning It began at the home of the beautiful Muriel Engle, Yet, it began long before then. It began when three seekers and a Master chose long before birth to come together. It began when those three in their own ways came to follow the Light in their own ways. It began through Neva Dell Hunter in Flagstaff - "Jack, I'd like you to meet John-Roger" - Betty Barron. It began with John-Roger losing a bet When Jack came to collect and kept coming. It began again through Neva Dell When Jack and Muriel came together. It began in Muriel's office through the intuition of Muriel and Bob (Waterman) knowing they had a job to do. It began at a lecture in Santa Barbara's Rainbow Temple with Muriel's hospitality and the praying hands afterwards. It began with an idea on a time schedule as John-Roger mentioned seminars. It began when the thought fell on the receptive ears of Muriel, Bob and Jack. It began with Muriel leading a discussion with students at a gathering in her home. It began with John-Roger giving a lecture at Muriel's when Bob gathered students together. It began May 4th, 1968 with the first seminars. It began with the Mystical Traveler, John-Roger. It keeps beginning within all of those who the Light touches, Within all of those who we touch with the Light And it keeps beginning Within all of Us At every moment In MSIA |
