“My hope is that when I finally ‘grow up,’ I will be able to model how to do as the Mystical Traveler suggests: being in this world but not of it."

David Allen - Ministering to the Business Community

As we have approached and passed into the new millenium, a number of people have emerged in MSIA and elsewhere who don’t just practice their Ministry during their off-duty hours, but all the time. Their very essence is the Ministry, for the Highest Good at all levels.

David Allen is one of those individuals. An MSIA Minister and Initiate from the hills of Ojai, California., David, his wife Kathryn, and a few highly-trained employees have shown more than 200,000 people how to get things done with minimal time and effort and maximum relaxed control at work, at home and at play.

“My hope is that when I finally ‘grow up,’ I will be able to model—for those who are interested—how to do as the Mystical Traveler suggests: being in this world but not of it. I often tell people that there are only two reasons to be more productive in the physical world: (1) the physical is important to you or (2) the physical world is not important to you. In other words, if you have spiritual priorities and you are incarnated on this level, handling the requirements on this level as effectively as possible, it would make sense to deal with your ‘in-basket’ appropriately. It doesn’t make you spiritual, but it can certainly relieve a lot of pressure that may prevent you from recognizing your spirituality,” David said in a recent interview.

David Allen
He is a man of infinite enthusiasm and motion, moving suddenly and rapidly like a cat. He also speaks rapidly, like an expert typist on a 90-words-per-minute electric typewriter.

David is formerly a black belt karate expert and shows it. Every move is planned out at some level before it happens. “I haven’t had time for karate in recent years,” David says. “However, I do manage to slog around the block once in a while.”

He recommends dealing with each task in life in “black belt fashion,” acting quickly and being entirely ready for the next action. He and his staff seem to easily teach busy, harassed executives to not only handle but excel in their work and personal lives.

“The spiritual energies coming into the planet at this time are stepping up, creating both a challenge and an opportunity. If you don’t step up, too, the new energy will blow you away. You’ll numb down and slow down. People need some effective ways to deal with all the levels of our experience,” he said.

“But don’t think for a minute that we can delude ourselves into thinking the majority of people are ready for this. People are looking for anchors of stable energy. The spiritual context of how we relate to the universe can ultimately demonstrate the profundity and effectiveness of how it operates on all levels.

“That’s a long road to hoe from our current perspectives to change and development on the planet. People need to know what they are doing and why they are doing it at the deepest levels. They need to experience and express at the greatest levels of of productivity and elegance, in alignment with the forces that seemingly are greater than are evident at the moment. We are moving toward a great acceptance of all that at a rate higher than we have ever known before. And we will see a huge range of conscious awareness about that in people around the planet.

I think our job as Ministers is to consistently challenge ourselves as to what we know and don’t know, to be willing to put it out there in the ways that seem most appropriate, and then lead, as good students,” David continued.

He credits “meeting up” with John-Roger and John Morton in assisting him in developing his own self-worth. “They helped me to choose not to go down roads that weren’t particularly healthy, like seeking a life with only a rice bowl and a cave, or not discriminating between that which was of Spirit and that which was of my own desires,” David said.

“Their training has assisted me to find that my destiny had to do with activity throughout the world. Even my Ministerial Blessing had to do with developing personal strength as I would express myself throughout the world.

“In dealing with lots of people who maintain a focus in the material world, it is a constant challenge for me to maintain balance between the physical and spiritual worlds while I am here,” he said.

David said he uses the Traveler’s teachings about ‘what is,’…being responsible for what is created, and dealing with a person’s own activities, creations and plans.

“Make it up; make it happen, “ is a statement he frequently uses with his clients.

“If we handle these levels, it frees up our creative energy to focus on higher levels."
- David Allen
David is publishing a book next January on the “science and art of managing the physical and focus levels of consciousness.” He added, “If we handle these levels, it frees up our creative energy to focus on higher levels. It also gives us the ability to express and experience ourselves on the incarnated levels with greater manifestation. Ultimately, it’s a fantastic, fun game to find yourself getting better at. It’s not necessarily a spiritual path, but it’s a piece of the game that we ultimately must deal with spiritually.”

He combines many of his volunteer MSIA activities with his business travel, conducting MSIA and PTS introductory meetings.

David’s wife, Kathryn, handles the company administration and heads coaching teams, also doing coaching herself.

David and Kathryn live in the country surrounded by the lush gardens and landscape that they have created through their shared passion of gardening.

David said, “I love watching things grow, and having the knowledge of having been a part in that creative process.

“Pruning a Japanese maple at sunset with a glass of California Chardonnay is one of my favorite ways to give myself over to some of the nicer things in life.”

David Allen & Co. was formed in 1997 and the organization has grown steadily and rapidly. Under David’s capable leadership, the company has provided training and coaching for numerous organizations, including the U. S. National Guard, the American Red Cross, the EastWest Institute, the World Bank, The Clorox Company, Qualcomm, First Union National Bank, CreditSuisse First Boston, Amgen, Edward Jones Co., and New York Life Insurance Co.

David’s products and services include both public and in-house seminars, individual coaching, management and team consulting, and an audiotape cassette program. Plans for the year 2000, David says, will include a gradual expansion of his business, adding more staff and more focus on products, including multimedia uses designed to help many of his clients integrate his models globally.
